By submitting an entry to The Canadian Portraiture Legacy, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.

1. Competition Overview

The Canadian Portraiture Legacy is an annual art competition organized by Urban Art Studio 101. The competition aims to recognize and celebrate excellence in the art of portraiture.

2. Eligibility

• Entrants must be Canadian residents and at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.
• Entries must be original works created by the artist.
• The competition is open to all artists, whether emerging or established.

3. Submission Guidelines

• All entries must be submitted online through the official competition website by the deadline of May 31, 2026.
• The artwork must be in one of the accepted media (oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, or mixed media).
• Entries must include high-resolution digital images of the artwork and an artist statement.
• Finalists must be able to deliver their physical artwork for the live painting session and exhibition.

4. Judging and Selection

• A panel of qualified judges will evaluate all entries based on artistic merit, technical skill, and originality.
• The judges’ decision is final and binding.
• Urban Art Studio 101 reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these rules.

5. Intellectual Property and Usage Rights

• Copyright: The artist retains full copyright to their submitted artwork.
• Usage Rights: By submitting an entry, the artist grants Urban Art Studio 101 a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display images of their artwork for promotional purposes, including but not limited to:
• Exhibition and display at the competition events.
• Publication on the competition website and social media platforms.
• Inclusion in promotional materials, press releases, and publications.
• Archival purposes.

6. Prizes

Prizes will be awarded as described on the official competition website. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value unless otherwise stated.

7. Limitation of Liability

Urban Art Studio 101 is not responsible for any loss or damage to artwork while in our possession, though we will take reasonable care to protect all submitted pieces. Participation in the competition is at the artist’s own risk.

8. General Conditions
